Contents of project:
Coke Dry Quenching (CDQ) for No.5 & No.6 coke oven batteries for Maanshan Iron &steel Company limited was established in the south of Maanshan Iron &steel Company limited. The capacity of Coke Dry Quenching had been 125t/h. 70t/h & 4.6MPa Boiler for coke dry quenching and 18,000KW condensing steam turbine.
Features of major design:
-CDQ chamber
The CDQ chamber, which is positive pressure cylindrical vertical brickwork, has a shaft kiln structure.
- Primary dust collector
The primary dust collector is the gravity settlement tank type de-dusting device, which is used to remove coarse coke fine contained in the circulating gas.
- Secondary dust collector
The secondary dust collector adopted is the multi-cyclone type separating dust collector which is suitable for CDQ process to further separate small sizes of coke fine from the circulating gas. In this way the abrasion of coke fine to the blade of the circulating fan will be reduced.
Scope of contracting:
ACRE had been responsible for this project based on Engineering +Procurement + Construction (EPC) mode.
-CDQ chamber, CDQ boiler, coke conveying system, de-dusting system, comprehensive electrics department and demineralized water station.
- Power station with steam turbine, pump house for deaerated feed water, comprehensive pipes and external pipes, etc.
Project Highlights:
This project had been not only the first large-scale CDQ with quenching more than 1Mt/a coke with technology localization, but also the project with minimum schedule (13.5months) of project in China. The schedule of project for similar project in foreign countries will be 18-22 months.
Ratio between Nitrogen and Coke for CDQ had been the technical parameter to measure the advancement of CDQ in the world. The value of ratio for CDQ project had been1200 Nm3/h.t, lower than design value 1,240Nm3/h.t , after scaling. The value had reached the advanced international level for CDQ.
