Indian Ministry of Steel hosted a Conclave on Capital Goods for Steel Sector: Manufacture in India in Bhubaneswar on 23rd October, 2018. With an invitation, ACRE’s general manager Yang Zhongyi participated the conference. Other participants include important Indian government officials such as the Chief Minister of Odisha State, the Minister of Steel, the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises and the Minister of Commerce and Industry; major steelmakers leaders such as the Chairman of Steel Authority of India Limited, Vice President of Tata Steel, Vice President of JSW Steel, President of JSPL(Jindal Steel and Power Limited), Vice President of NMDC(National Mineral Development Corporation) and Chairman of MECON(Metallurgical and Engineering Consultants, Ltd.); international and Indian organizations such as the World Steel Association and the Confederation of Indian Industry; as well as a number of technology and equipment suppliers.

To achieve the goal of 300M t/a steelmaking capacity and reduce the investment in the steelmaking development by 2030, Indian government has formulated a strategy for localizing the capital goods to improve India’s technological, design and manufacturing capabilities through international cooperation.

General Manager Yang Zhongyi signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation with MECON under the witness of Indian dignitaries at the conference in the morning.

At the meeting, General Manager Yang Zhongyi addressed a keynote speech named “To realize Indian Steel Industrial Capital Goods Manufactured in India through International Cooperation”.
